"I find the time to explore the never ending fun that ceramic provides, making other characters that remind us of Precolombian figures in terracota and smoke fired, a process that my husband enjoys joining in on the fun, helping me with the big bonfires and waiting with trepidation for the results."

I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico where I studied graphic design and illustration. In 2000 I moved to London to study multimedia with a plan to learn and make animations, but after a while I moved away from computers and more and more towards old technology, so I enrolled at Morley College to learn printmaking and have since been making prints in linocut, wood engraving and letterpress.

My inspiration comes from sources galore, but originally from Jose Guadalupe Posada an incredibly prolific Mexican printmaker of the beginning of the 20th century and the tradition that followed him. My prints are in galleries around the UK and have been selected and hung at both the Royal Academy in London and Bristol. I am a regular teacher at Bild-Werk Frauenau, an International Summer Academy of Art set in the heart of Bavaria.

A few years ago, I also started working in ceramics to bring the figurines of my Regency prints into 3D with the wonderful material that porcelain is. I find the time to explore the never ending fun that ceramic provides, making other characters that remind us of Precolombian figures in terracota and smoke fired, a process that my husband enjoys joining in on the fun, helping me with the big bonfires and waiting with trepidation for the results.

I am a member of the Society of Wood engravers and a member of West Country Potters Association.
